Smaller is Better

All of these beauties are just 11 x 14 or smaller.  Perfect to display in a bookshelf on a table top easel or in a grouping.  If you have a specific word that is special to you, let us know and we can custom make your own collage.

Sneak Peek

We are so excited about the Fall Flair Market this Saturday, Oct 3 at Common Grounds. There are going to be lots of great vendors selling everything from art to jewelry to baby items to pottery. Shopping, coffee, and friends - I don't know a better way to spend a Saturday! Hope to see you there.

Here is a sneak peek of some of the things we've been working on. Click to enlarge and see the great details and words. They are all small pieces (5 x 7 to 11 x 14) and priced from $15 to $25. We will also be selling several of our baby items at clearance. If you are interested in anything you see, let us know and we can reserve it for you.

For Grant

I'm so happy to have finally made something for my very own. I wanted something very simple for Grant's room. It was already decorated with a vintage cowboy theme, so this was the perfect addition.

Old Design, New Look

20 x 24. We have done a little girl's version of this design, but I love the new look. It could look distinguished in any room, but I can especially envision it hanging above a leather couch, maybe in an office as well...

Peacock

16 x 24. This peacock is muted colors - a steel charcoal blue with copper and gold. The tail is a plethora of gold paisleys. Finished with a green ruffled ribbon on the edges.

And There's More

16 x 20.  There is a lot of detail in this one.  I really like the way the leaves and flowers draw your eye into the center.  If you see a little frill on the edges of the canvas, its because the adorable brown ruffled velvet ribbon is peeking over.

Another little 8 x 10 gem.  A bit more sophisticated with its gold, black, and red theme.  Notice the matching ribbon on the edges.  And if you missed it, see the cream and black polka dot eggs!

At Last!

16 x 20. A rich brown background with a hint of cream dots. I love the tail feathers of both birds and the green gives it a modern twist.

This is actually a petite canvas - 8 x 10. Would look great set in an easel or hung up with a ribbon. The background is the perfect summer green.

18 x 24. This was a lot of fun to make - the mix of metallics - a soft gold background, copper leaves with the bright turquoise and orange. If you look closely, you can see hints of shine all over - little paper made sequins, if you will.

16 x 20. This is a dreamy, iridescent piece. Just birds in a flock, some translucent. I can envision this hanging in a calm, muted room, perhaps a room that is just decorated in whites.

16 x 20. A more modern piece showcasing some of our favorite new papers. I love the hounds tooth on the owl.

As you can see, we have been very busy getting ready for the open house at Bloom and Bee Swanky on July 31-August 1. Here are some of the things we've been working on. I will post some more pictures in the next couple of days - ones I'm particularly excited about. Hope you like these - let us know what you think.

Words of Thanks

We have been taking a break from our regular work lately. We have been experimenting with some different techniques and such, getting ready to try some new things. In the meantime, I wanted to share some kind words we've recently heard back from some of our customers. We are so happy whenever we are able to provide the finishing touch for a room!

"Thank you so much for the artwork for Ellie's room. It is displayed above her crib and adds the perfect amount of 'girlie pink' to her room. Sometimes we dance around her room and it is her favorite thing to study!"

"Thank you! The painting is exactly what we didn't know we were dying to have. It will be treasured by us and Graham forever."

"Thank you so much for the awesome painting you made - it is just what his room needed. I love it!

Mama Bird

20 x 24. This creation features a hot pink border and a darling bird sitting over her eggs. I like the berries in the branches - a soft pink with polka dots. The edges of the canvas are finished with a hot pink ribbon with white dots.

Coastal Theme

12 x 24. You should stop by Bloom and Bee Swanky to check out their new coastal theme/display - just in time for summer. This crane is about to make its debut over there. I love the muted colors. No paint was used - all paper!

Every Zebra Should Have Painted Nails

So in an effort to make one special collage for Callie Jane's new nursery, we got carried away and made two; so now her mom will get to choose which one she likes best! We couldn't resist and had to give each zebra her own 'painted' hooves. Each is finished with one of our favorite ribbons - black ruffled with a white thread peeking out.

3.14.2009

This was made especially for a good friend who just got married. A bit more 'artsy' than our other work, this collage has special meaning. It features a lemon tree with 2 birds, one orange and one red. Our wish is that their marriage will have deep roots, always strong through every season of life.

For Graham

This is a larger version of one of our previous designs, but customized for baby Graham, who is about to make his big debut! We are so excited to meet him!

For Sophia

This was a special Christmas gift for my 3 year old niece, Sophia.  It is 36 x 30 and has lots of interest.  My favorite is the red tulip.  If you look closely, you can see the bumble bee next to the blue flower.  According to Sophia, this painting is just 'bootiful.'

Introducing Our New Line

Finally - here is the complete collection. We've created a line of bird collages exclusively for Bloom and Bee Swanky, our favorite store in Waco. We hope you'll go by and see them in person soon! Each features fine, handmade paper as well as tissue paper and they are all in neutral colors only.

Especially for Eileen

30 x 26. This was custom made to match the bedding in a baby girl's room. It's a lot of polka dots and bright colors and leaves you just plain happy.

2 Owls Sitting in a Tree

A punchy pink mixed with brown glaze and some great patterns! The leaves are bright polka dots and green paisley. I love that there are so many colors. You could build a room's decorations around this one!

Sailboat and Whale

16 x 20.  This is all about polka dots, from big to small.  Even the whale has little tiny blue polka dots!

For the Little Cowboy

The background on this one is vaguely reminiscent of denim. The overall look is folksy and the edges of the canvas are finished with a great white ribbon featuring red paisleys.

Planes and Trains

All little boys seem to be born with a love for airplanes and choo-choo trains so these were a lot of fun to make. I like the faint clouds behind the planes and the bright colors in both of them.

Frogs and Lily Pads: Boy or Girl

20 x 24. Two versions. The boy version has a dragon fly in the corner and is finished with a green polka-dot ribbon. The girl version has flowers, but could be made to have dragon flies too. It is finished with a pink polka-dot ribbon.

Circus!

16 x 20. Blue elephant on a pale yellow background with a red ribbon on the edges.

For Black & White Lovers

16 x 20 oval. This one would be great in any room, from a dining room to an upscale girl's room.

Owl Perched in a Tree

30 x 36.  Here are 2 different versions.  One has pink and orange fruits with a bit of leopard print mixed in.  The other is mostly purple and pink polka-dots.

Z is for Zebra

16 x 20 oval. This sassy zebra is on a turquoise background and has turquoise hooves. Finished with a black ribbon on the edges.

Two Owls on a Branch

16 x 20. Here are 2 whimiscal owls sitting on a metallic brown branch.  One turquoise, one hot pink.  Finished with a hot pink ribbon on the edges.

Paisley Bird and Flower

20 x 24. This is all girl with a bright pink background. My favorite part is the paisley wing on the bird. It is finished with a lavender polka-dot ribbon on the edges.

Especially for Samuel

This was such a fun project because it was custom made to match little samuel's nursery. Seeing it in his room was the perfect finishing touch.
